Looking for the perfect hostess gift for your weekend cottage visit this Fourth of Jyly with friends? This hand painted barn wood sign that is a patriotic red, white and blue artistic rendition of elements of the US flag would be just the ticket! It would also be a nice accent on your porch during the Independence Holiday season.

I found this at an estate sale at a cottage, and while I do not believe the painting is vintage, it sure appears to be that the barn wood it is painted on has had a long life before it became a sign!

This sign is painted on a vintage barn wood scrap which gives it great character and makes it a special, one of a kind treasure. The blue sections are painted. The red stripes and antiqued white stars are decoupaged on to the board. The wood is weathered on the back and has a old nail embedded in the top. The initials SKD are also on the back. There is a thick rope hanger this is firmly attached to the back.
The front of the piece has a protective finish applied so I believe it would work in a sheltered spot outdoors. To be safe, indoors would be best though.

The top red stripe is slightly lifted off the surface and should be re-glued to avoid further pulling away. Other than that, it is in great shape and a really cute piece!
