This small round serving dish can be categorized as a bowl, plate or tray. Made by MK, the dish has a colonial look pattern. The piece is deep enough (about 1/2 inch) to hold a dip or sauce, or to be used as a trinket or jewelry tray. It is silver plated and has a wide rounded sloping rim with a tiny lip all around. The back side has this engraved stamp: “MK in the center of a sunburst design Metal Plate" It is in really nice condition. You can see from the pictures how well it polished up from the condition I found it. There was an extreme amount of tarnish and I spent just about 30 minutes and the change was really dramatic. There are still a few stubborn spots that would likely clean up further with a bit more elbow grease. The dish is very sturdy and would display well, if you choose not to use it. You could also have it engraved and use it for an award.
